Wine Regions of California

Bordering the Pacific Ocean, California is not only America’s most populous state that is Providing best wines in all over world but it is far and above the country’s largest wine growing area, accounting for 90 percent of the total wine production – more than any region outside Europe. Boasting mostly a Mediterranean climate, California is home to over 1,200 wineries, ranging from small boutique wineries to the large corporations with over 427,000 acres planted under vines. The best known grape growing area is Napa Valley, located on the northern coast and which has established a reputation as one of the world’s most glamorous, most cosseted and most heavily capitalized wine districts. While the Central Valley, stretching 480 kilometres in the Sierra Foothills, is the largest area for growing grapes, accounting for 75 percent of California’s wine production.
