Characteristics

Gevrey-Chambertin, one of the most celebrated villages in the Côte de Nuits, is famous for powerful, structured Pinot Noir wines. Often deeper in color and fuller-bodied than other Burgundy reds, they show bold flavors of dark cherry, blackcurrant, earth, and spice, with firm tannins and great aging potential. The village boasts nine Grand Cru vineyards, including the legendary Chambertin and Clos de Bèze, and numerous Premier Cru sites, making it a benchmark for serious, long-lived red Burgundy.
