The Riverina wine region of New South Wales is one of Australia’s most influential wine-producing areas. Importantly, the region lies in the fertile south-west, supported by the Murrumbidgee River irrigation network. As a result, Riverina has developed into the country’s largest grape-growing region by volume. Historically, production focused on scale and supply rather than regional identity.
