Ingredients
• 1 cup coconut milk (or any milk of your choice)
• 1 banana (frozen for a creamier texture)
• 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger (or a small piece of fresh ginger)
• 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional for sweetness)
• 1 tablespoon almond butter (optional for added creaminess)
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
• A pinch of black pepper (to enhance the absorption of turmeric)
• 1/2 cup ice cubes
Instructions:
1. Prepare Ingredients: If using fresh ginger, peel and slice it. If the banana isn’t frozen, you can use a fresh one, but the smoothie might be slightly less creamy.
2. Blend Ingredients: Add all ingredients to a blender. Start with the coconut milk, followed by the banana, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, honey or maple syrup, almond butter, vanilla extract, black pepper, and ice cubes.
3. Blend Until Smooth: Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and creamy. If the smoothie is too thick, add more coconut milk or water to reach your desired consistency.
4. Taste and Adjust: Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness or spice level as needed. Add more honey for sweetness, or more turmeric for a stronger flavor.
5. Serve: Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy immediately. You can garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a few slices of banana if desired.
Tips:
• Optional Add-Ins: You can add other superfoods like chia seeds, flaxseeds, or a scoop of protein powder to boost the nutritional value.
• Storage: If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Shake or stir well before drinking.
