The best advice I can give to chefs pursuing a career in performance cooking 🔪🏃🏻
I’ve had the pleasure to look after and cook for some of the worlds top athletes, NBA players, footballers & Olympic teams across every continent, but it’s not all glam and it’s an incredible tough route to pursue as a chef, here’s a few tips that I could of done with a long time ago!
I can’t stress this no more! Learn to cook, very well! Be able to handle your own at any top restaurant. Before I became a private performance chef working with pro athletes, I spent over 15 years in some incredible restaurants including a 2 Michelin star hotel restaurant at a senior level. Maybe that’s why I took the private route! 😅
Practice what you preach, get strong, get fit and eat better then your clients💪🏻 if you believe and see the process so will your clients, positivity and confidence is contagious as hell.
RWhether I’m fueling an entire team before a big game or plating a six course fine dining experience for one of my clients, my approach never changes clean food and flavor first, always.
But beyond technique, nutrition and clean wholefoods have always been my passion. I believe food should be both functional and delicious, enhancing performance while delivering on taste. This approach has been my niche bridging the gap between elite performance nutrition, longevity lifestyle and top restaurant quality dining. It’s what sets me apart and what I offer my clients, meals that not only fuel their bodies but also elevate their experience of food.
Success in this industry also comes down to investing in yourself. Traveling, experiencing different food cultures, and building a strong network are just as important as mastering techniques. The best performance chefs don’t just stay in their comfort zone they explore, learn, get stronger and surround themselves with other people in the industry who push them to grow.
Moral of the story? Your niche is your key. Own it, refine it, and let it set you apart. Keep pushing the limits, stay ahead in your lane, invest in yourself, and never stop evolving.
my inbox is always open to anyone looking to get into the industry.
Stay healthy 💪🏻
