Perth Hills Wine Region, Western Australia

The Perth Hills rise directly behind the capital along the Darling Scarp, their small vineyards tucked into the Bickley, Carmel, and Chittering valleys between orchards and jarrah forest. Elevation and valley air cool an otherwise warm climate, and a colourful spread of varieties – Shiraz and Chardonnay through Zinfandel, Viognier, Mourvedre, and Tempranillo – pours from some of WA’s most personal cellar doors, all within an hour of Perth.

What Makes Perth Hills Wines Distinctive?

The Perth Hills trades scale for character. Cellar doors are intimate, often the winemaker’s own table, and the Bickley Valley’s boutique trail has become Perth’s favourite quick wine escape.
