Father Joe JiacobbeDoxa Youth Foundation was established in 1972 by Father Joe Giacobbe, a young priest who worked with some of Melbourne’s most disadvantaged communities.  During this time, he realized that many young people he worked with might never have a holiday or visit the country during their childhood. He decided to establish a camp at Malmsbury, Victoria to give these young people a positive life experience and team building strategies. Doxa’s mission is to assist these young people in achieving their full potential through their various programmes such as camps, schools, and cadetship right across Melbourne and regional Victoria

Programs are designed to help in the development of social skills, healthy eating building friendships and resilience. Through positive life experiences children can develop self-confidence and learning life skills that can help them shape their future. Doxa provide access to education programs and employment pathway.

DOXA YOUTH FOUNDATION CAMPS AND ACTIVITIES

Doxa Camp ActivitiesDOXA MALMSBURY CAMP  offers a wide range of exciting, fun and educational activities supervised by qualified outdoor educators. Here the children get to experience camp life, and the various activities they may not normally have access to.  Some of the activities include making damper, playing on giant swings, low ropes, trampolines, playing football, going bush walking, hut making activities and various obstacle courses. All of which help with their development self-confidence, friendships and resilience  


DOXA CITY CAMP 
offers children opportunities to experience urban life in and around Melbourne.  Activities include Guided Laneway Tours, River Cruises, Ice Skating, and visits to Parliament House, Queen Victoria Market, Eureka Skydeck, Victorian Arts Centre, Cooks Cottage, Melbourne Zoo and more.

DOXA JOURNEY CAMPS – Offer multi day expeditions in various locations throughout Victoria. Designed to test participants physical and emotional skills Activities include such Hiking, Bush Cooking, Bush Craft Camp Building , Environmental Education, and Navigation Skills.

DOXA SCHOOL BENDIGO is a flexible learning establishment providing programmes for at risk young people who struggle with mainstream education. Established in 2006 together with the Marist Brothers, The Doxa Foundation and the Catholic Education Dept.  Doxa School provides education for students in years between 7  to 12 , and enrolled for 12 months or more.

The Doxa school programme has evolved to meet the needs of the local communities and their partner schools and organisations – to provide a place of peace healing and to build and nurture strong healthy relationships with students families, schools and the wider community,

Doxa offer a cadetship programme that provides young people with many opportunities in personal development, training and practical and personal support.
Doxa has supported over 8,000 young Victorians typically aged between 8 – 24 years old.
