The smell of cooking with farm fresh ingredients in his grandmothers kitchen first attracted 12 year old Alain Ducasse to become a chef. Managing to convince his parents to allow him to follow his passion he began his apprenticeship at the age of 16. Six years later he had the fortune to work alongside Alain Chapel, the famous inventor of nouvelle cuisine and through his mentor aspired to become one of the worlds greatest chefs. He is the only chef to have received 19 Michelin stars throughout his career and has and has restaurants in London, Paris Monte Carlo, Las Vegas, New York, Japan, Hong Kong and Lebanon. He has authored numerous books, has his own line of cooking supplies and runs the world famous cooking school Ecole de Cuisine in Paris.rn
